Speculation over Amarinder's next move, may launch party on Wednesday

Former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh may launch his new political party here on Wednesday, according to speculation triggered by the announcement of a press conference.

Singh had last week said he would soon launch his own party, and that he was hopeful of a seat arrangement with the BJP provided the ongoing farmers' stir against farm laws was resolved in their interest.

SC to pronounce order on pleas seeking independent probe into Pegasus snooping matter tomorrow

The Supreme Court is scheduled to pronounce on Wednesday its verdict on a batch of pleas seeking independent probe into the Pegasus snooping matter.
 
A bench comprising Chief Justice N V Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli had reserved order on September 13, saying it only wanted to know whether or not the Centre used the Pegasus spyware through illegal methods to allegedly snoop on citizens.
 
Citing national security, the Centre had refused to file a detailed affidavit in the matter.
 
The pleas are related to reports of alleged snooping by government agencies on eminent citizens, politicians and scribes by using Israeli firm NSO's spyware Pegasus.

Kejriwal offers prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday offered prayers to Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya.

Addressing the media after the prayers, Aam Aadmi Party National conveyer said, "We have a special Cabinet meeting scheduled for tomorrow to include Ayodhya to the list of religious places under the free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens in Delhi."

Earlier today, Kejriwal offered prayers at Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya.

On Monday, he joined the Maha Aarti on the bank of the river Sarayu, worshipped the Goddess and took her blessings.
