New electoral rolls ready

| With elections to the state assembly expected in May, Karnataka has completed the preparations for the electoral rolls on the basis of delimited constituencies. With this, Karnataka becomes the first state in the nation to publish electoral rolls as per the delimitation of constituencies. |
| Karnataka state chief electoral officer R Ramaseshan told reporters that the new electoral rolls have been published at the offices of local civic bodies, tahsildar and deputy commissioner for public viewing. |
| "If voters don't find their names or any other discrepancy, it should immediately be brought to the notice of the local authorities for rectification. The rectification of the electoral rolls will be carried out within 10 days of submitting the application," he added. |
| Following the redrawing of the constituencies, the Bangalore Urban district will have the highest number of voters at 6.6 million. The Kodagu district has the lowest number of voters at 368,000. The total number of polling booths in the state will be 39,758. |
| Meanwhile, the Bangalore Urban district administration has released the revised voters' list of the seven assembly constituencies coming under its purview. The seven new constituencies are: Yelahanka, Yeshwanthapura, Mahadevapura, Anekal, Byatarayanapura, Dasarahalli and Bangalore South. |
| Of the 1.93 million voters in these seven constituencies, more than 1 million are males. The administration has urged the voters to scrutinise the rolls for any discrepancies. |
| "The discrepancies have to be brought to the notice of the local revenue office or the tahsildar. It will be rectified within a week," Bangalore Urban Deputy Commissioner M A Sadiq said. |
| The state is preparing its final report on the election preparedness as directed by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The report has to be submitted to the ECI during the second week of April. |
