Six TMC ministers submit resignations
The ministers are protesting against govt's recent reforms

The final rites in the termination of the tumultuous relationship between the TMC and ally UPA were completed today with Trinamool Congress MPs formally withdrawing support by submitting a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee. The hour long meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan was in sharp contrast to the three minute interaction with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence, where the six TMC ministers including the lone Cabinet minister Mukul Roy submitted their resignations from the government.
Sudip Bandhyopadhay speaking to reporters said, that while receiving the resignation letters, the Prime Minister said he was 'sad' that they were quitting.
The alliance between the two reached break point after the UPA refused to give into Mamata Banerjee’s demands for a roll back on diesel prices and the economic reforms it had unleashed last Friday.
