Toyota Corolla Rolled Out In Ap Market

Dobro Toyota, the main dealers in Andhra Pradesh for the Toyota passenger cars, unveiled here last night before an elite gathering the new generation Corolla sedan car in three variants.

The glittering function, organised against the backdrop of the historic Falaknuma Palace in the walled city, was attended by senior executives from Toyota Kiloskar Motor Limited, the manufacturers of Toyota Cars in India.

Handing over Corolla keys to the first batch of customers, Satoshi Aoki, the director (marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar, referred to the excellent response from the Indian consumers to his company's products and said since its launch in India, Qualis had become the largest selling vehicle in its category.

 

So far Toyota has sold 78,000 Qualis accounting for 40 percent of the market for the segment. Aoki was confident that Corolla would also receive the same kind of patronage and announced a target of marketing 10,000 Corolla cars in this calender year.

Toyota Kirloskar regional manager (marketing --East & South) Sailesh Shetty said Corolla was first launched in Japan in 1966 and the current model now launched was the ninth generation version. It has been developed from the scratch to suit the modern time needs of speed and safety and adapted to meet the Indian conditions.

Dobro Toyota chief executive officer Pankaj Doshi promised to establish a new benchmark of customer service in India through his outlet. He explained the new features of the ninth generation Corolla and how it had become a popular brand all over the world.
