Mentha oil remains higher on export demand

Mentha oil rose by Rs 14.70 to Rs 1,250 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by a pick-up in export and industrial demand in spot markets.

Mentha oil demand rose in the spot markets from the pharmaceutical and exporting units amid reports of restricted arrivals mainly supported the rates at lower levels, traders said.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, September mentha oil rose by Rs 14.60, or 1.18%, to Rs 1,250 per kg with trading volume of 427 lots, while the October contract rose by Rs 14.60, or 1.17%, to Rs 1,252.10 per kg with a business volume of 108 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November went up by Rs 13.80, or 1.11% to Rs 1,251.10 per kg in 56 lots.
