The Sensex has lost its starting gains and has touched an intra-day low of 19,242 and continues to hover around the same. The Sensex is currently at 19,236 up 39 points and the Nifty has added 19 points at 5,773.
On the sectoral indices, Health Care has slipped into the negative along with Capital Goods shedding 0.3% and 0.7% respectively. Bankex has improved and is up 1% along with IT index.
Tata Motors, Sterlite, TCS and ICICI Bank up 1% ecah are teh top gainers followed by SBI, Bharti Airtel, Infosys and Jaiprakash Associates adding 0.5% - 0.8%.
Tata Steel, L&T and Bajaj Auto down 2% are the top losers. Reliance Communications, Tata Power, Maruti Suzuki and Hindustan Unilever shedding 1% each are the other significant losers.
The market breadth is very positive. 1527 stocks have advanced while 964 have declined.
