Stock Futures End Premium

Cash markets closed marginally higher but stock derivatives inched lower. However, despite lower close, futures traded above the spot market. Nifty February futures traded at a premium to the spot by closing at 1061.90 as against 1059.30 spot S&P CNX Nifty. However over the previous close, Nifty February futures closed 1.75 points lower.

The turnover in the derivatives market rose marginally to Rs 2687.77 crore from Rs 2652.33 crore on Monday with 94,823 contracts traded. In index futures, the total volume was Rs 207.56 crore. Nifty March futures closed 0.65 points lower over previous day at 1065.70, yet at a premium to spot.

 

Similarly, Nifty April futures closed at 1065.10, down 0.85 points, yet higher than the spot. In index options, the turnover fell to Rs 39.62 crore (previous Rs 59.89 crore) with 1,854 contracts traded. The put-call ratio fell to 0.35 (previous 0.87) The top traded calls were the 1060, 1070 and 1050 strikes.
