Ubs Warburg India Chief Ajay Sondhi To Join Kotak

Ajay Sondhi, managing director and country head for India at UBS Warburg since 1998, is joining the Kotak Mahindra Group.

Sondhi will be group president (institutions) and the vice-chairman and managing director of Kotak Mahindra Capital Company (KMCC).

KMCC is the joint venture between Kotak Mahindra and Goldman Sachs. Sondhi will be responsible for managing the corporate and institutional relationships across businesses of the group including the commercial banking business. The focus will be on deriving synergies across the various business.

Sondhi will also be the director on the board of the parent company, Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd (KMFL) which is being converted to a bank. He will also look into group strategy and management including the building up of the group
