Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a man who allegedly wanted to kill an inmate in the police custody here.
The accused was arrested from Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital where the police had taken his inmate for medical examination.
"The accused, identified as Prasanjit Kumar Jha alias Chikna, had gone to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital with the intention of shooting Karanvir alias Kala, who is on the police remand," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini, S D Mishra.
"The 23-year-old had a loaded pistol having six live rounds. Thanks to the alertness of the police, he was apprehended," said Mishra.
A case has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is on.
