Pistachio rises on festive demand

Pistachio prices edged up by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today following increased buying by retailers and stockists, triggered by ongoing festive season.

Furthermore, fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the pistachio prices.

Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,455-1,505 and Rs 1,555-1,615 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.

Almond (California) Rs 23,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,700-11,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 7,200-7,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 795-815 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 850-880 per kg.
