Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Deputy Governor R Gandhi on Tuesday said Rs 12.4 lakh crore of old notes scrapped have been deposited in banks till December 10. The remarks came during an impromptu press meet with news agencies Doordarshan, PTI and ANI. The deposit mobilisation started on November 10, when the banks opened after demonetisation announcement on November 8 night.   RBI Deputy Governor S S Mundra, who was also present in the meeting, said the central bank has suspended an employee in Bengaluru, who was arrested on Tuesday on charges of colluding with bank officials ...
