Foreign tourist arrivals beat demonetisation, surge over 9% in November

Arrivals are the highest in any month of 2016, growth rate even surpasses that seen in November 2015

Demonetisation has not taken away the sheen away from the country's fast-growing inbound tourism sector. Foreign tourist arrivals for the month of November have grown by more than nine per cent year-on-year to 8,90,000 visitors, the highest during any month in 2016. The growth is much better than last November's increase of 6.5 per cent. The number of travellers from top source countries such as the US and UK has shown strong growth.
