BJP condemns TN unit chief's arrest

Radhakrishnan was arrested while protesting the lodging of a murder case against Nagercoil district president C Dharmaraj and seven innocent.

BJP National Secretary Murlidhar Rao said the Dharmaraj and others were falsely implicated in the case.

"This entire act of falsely implicating the BJP leader and innocent people were part of the attempt by the police to please the local churches and the Christian community at the behest of certain political leaders," Rao said.

Police had registered a case against Nagercoil BJP leader Dharmaraj and six others in connection with the murder of one Edwin Raj, who was killed in violence by a group of men who were protesting a prayer meeting organised by CSI church members near Nithravilai, three days ago.
