Declare June 6 as state holiday in Punjab: Sikh body

By declaring June 6 as a state holiday, the government will pay befitting homage to Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh, Shaheed General Shubeg Singh and countless other Sikhs who died in June 1984 protecting Sikh rights and defending Sri Akal Takhat Sahi, All India Sikh Students Federation said.
