HUL Q3FY25 results: Net profit rises 19% to Rs 2,984 cr, revenue up 2%

Hindustan Unilever Q3FY25 results: Consolidated revenue rose moderately by 1.9 per cent at Rs 15,559 for Q3FY25, from Rs 15,259 crore

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL), which owns brands like Dove, Vim, Surf Excel, and Horlicks, on Wednesday reported a 18.9 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 2,984 crore for the third quarter (Q3) of financial year 2024-25 (FY25). During the same period last year, the company had reported a net profit of Rs 2,509 crore. 

Sequentially, the profit rose by 15.2 per cent. Despite the positive financial results, HUL shares remained flat on Wednesday, closing at Rs 2,341 on the BSE.

 

Consolidated revenue rose moderately by 1.9 per cent at Rs 15,559 for Q3FY25, from Rs 15,259 crore year-on-year (Y-o-Y). Sequentially, revenue saw a marginal decline of nearly 1 per cent.

 

 

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) for the quarter stood at Rs 3,695 crore, up slightly from Rs 3,666 crore in Q3FY24. However, the Ebitda margin fell 30 basis points (bps) to 23.7 per cent.

 

Segment-wise Q3 growth

Home care: Sales grew by 6 per cent Y-o-Y, driven by high-single-digit volume growth in fabric wash and household care. The liquid detergent range continued its double-digit growth, with Rin bar and Comfort re-launched to boost product and brand performance.

 

Beauty and wellbeing: Sales increased by 1 per cent Y-o-Y, though volumes declined slightly. Hair care saw mid-single-digit growth, bolstered by Dove, Tresemme, and Clinic Plus.

 

Personal care: Sales declined by 4 per cent Y-o-Y, with volumes dropping mid-single digits. However, market share gains were reported in skin cleansing, while body wash registered double-digit growth.

 

HUL announces Kwality Wall's demerger

HUL's board approved the demerger of Kwality Wall's, its ice cream business. Under the demerger plan:

• HUL shareholders will receive one share of Kwality Wall's for each HUL share they hold.
• Kwality Wall's will be listed on both the BSE and NSE as an independent ice cream company.

"This move allows Kwality Wall's to better focus on its distinctive business model and market dynamics," the company said in an exchange filing.
