Incorporated on 7 Nov.'86 as Dharnendra Icecream, Dharnendra Industries got its present name in Dec.'92. The company manufactures ice-cream and milk products. Its ice-cream products are marketed under the Go Cool brand. It also manufactures mineral water and markets it under the Go Cool Aqua Mineral brand. It set up a 60,000-tpa plant for castor oil and its derivatives, a 60,000-tpa integrated edible oil (groundnut) plant, a 30,000-tpa cereal and pulse milling plant and a 325-tpa vacuum-fried fruit and vegetable plant. These facilities started commercial production in Feb-Mar.'94. The project was part-financed by a rights-cum-public issue in Dec.'93. The company uses the latest hydraulic press technology to improve the quality of medical-grade castor oil, where value-addition is very high. In Oct.'95, the company (inst. cap. : 48 lac ltr pa) tapped the capital market again for its Rs 8.08-cr project, to strengthen its marketing and distribution network by launching its products in north and south India and to set up a chain of exclusive Magic Scoop ice-cream parlours. Around 65% of its sales are in Gujarat while 35% are in the neighbouring states -- Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The products are also available in Goa, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
