In Mar.'89, Hotline Teletube & Components (HTC) was promoted by the Hotline group. The promoters have been in the electronics industry for over a decade and a half. Mukesh Aggarwal, the main promoter of the company, has been marketing TV sets and home appliances under the Hotline brand name. The range of products include gas appliances, food processors, fruit juicers, colour and black & white TV sets, projection televisions, etc. HTC manufactures picture tubes for 14" and 17" black and white TV sets. HTC, in collaboration with Goldstar, Korea, has set up a modern plant in Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh, to manufacture electron guns for monochrome monitor tubes and TV picture tubes with an installed capacity of 600,000 pa. In view of the phenomenal market growth as well as assured captive consumption, the company envisages large capacity expansion. Since countries like Japan, Korea and Taiwan have reduced their manufacturing capacity for B&W TV picture tubes, there exists a large export market to be tapped. During the year 1999-2000, the company achieved a turnover of Rs.5047 lacs as compared to Rs.6080 lacs in the previous year due to decline in the market of Black & White TV sets.
