Better known as the company behind Intershoppe, Linea, Glitterati and Contempo, a chain of premium stores in the country, Intercraft has its manufacturing facilities at Bangalore with a capacity of 1200 garments pd. Nearly 70% of its turnover comes from exports of its trousers, shirts, denim jeans, etc, for men and women. It went public in Jul.'93 to part-finance its long-term working capital requirements, open new retail outlets at Bangalore, Bhopal,Kolkatta, Hyderabad and Chennai, renovate its showroom in Mumbai. The company which has been exporting since 1981, is one of the major exporters of readymade garments, enjoying the status of an Export House. It exports to western Europe and east Asia, the US, the UK, Canada, Japan and Australia. Its international clientele includes several prestigious names like C&A, Galleries Laffayette, Miss Selfridges, etc. To upgrade quality standards, a new finishing unit was recently set up at Okhla. To augment the capacity of the exports division, a new assorted readymade garments division was set up at Gurgaon which commenced exports in Jun.'95. Intercraft is promoting, I M X Exports in technical collaboration with Mexx Far East, Hong Kong, to manufacture and export cotton knitted garments. Stickwell Fashions, co-promoted to produce 65 mln polyester woven labels, started commercial production in Mar.'95.
