Incorporated as a private limited company in Jun.'94, Heruk Agro Foods was converted into a public limited company in Mar.'95. It was promoted by Arabindra Singh and Jitendra Singh. The company is implementing a 100% export-oriented project to cultivate and export cut flowers (fresh roses) of various varieties at Sangdewadi (Raigad district), Maharashtra. The roses are to be exported to the international markets worldwide, particularly Europe. The company has entered into a technical and financial collaboration agreement with Moshav Laschish, Israel. It also has entered into an agreement with Agrexco, Israel, for marketing its output in Europe and other countries. Heruk is setting up eight greenhouses with polycovering over an area of 3.38 hctr. Six popular varities of long stem roses -- first red, ambience, versilia, tineke, noblesse and osiana would be planted. The graded roses will be packed and transported by refrigerated vans to the nearest international airport, from where they will be flown to various destinations abroad.
