Jay Vinyls was incorporated as Jay Nylex Films & Foils on 7 Dec.'92 and it changed its name to the present one in 1993. It was promoted by W L Wilkins, Jagjit Singh Paintal, Harmeet Singh Paintal and K Jayanarayan. The company made its initial public offering in Aug.'94, aggregating Rs 8.3 cr, to part-finance facilities to manufacture 96.5 lac sq mtr pa of thermoplastic sheets of PVC, ABS, PU and PVC / PU coated textiles in technical collaboration with Nylex Films & Fabrics, Australia, at Dharuhera, Haryana. The project cost was appraised by the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation at Rs 15.94 cr. Commercial production commenced from Apr.'95. The company has envisaged manufacturing facilities which will enable it to process a wide range of raw materials to give it a diversifed product range. Viniline is a laminated calendered product of PVC which finds industrial and non-industrial applications in floor coverings, wall cladding, acid tank lining , etc. ABS (acrylo nitrile butadiene styrene) plastic has exceptional properties and belongs to the lower segment of engineering plastics. ABS imparts toughness, rigidity, and chemical resistance. ABS is totally resistant to environmental corrosion. It provides great ease and economy of processing by all methods. Major applications are in the chemical industry, household appliances, furniture, electronics, gadgets, plumbing and building, hardware and agriculture. Synthetic leather, as a substitute to natural leather, has received a wide acceptance on account of its flexibility in end-uses, longer durability, texture, feel, and price advantages. It finds application in garments, footware, suitcases, upholstery, floorings, etc. A wide variety of colours can be obtained. The company has entered into a marketing agreement with Pioneer Corporation, Japan, for a period of five years from the date of commencement of production.
