Incorporated on 10 Nov.'93, Moneshi Agro Foods (MAFL) was promoted by Hare Krishan Investment and Trading Company Pvt Ltd. The original promoters of the promoting company were Subhash Gupta and Suman Gupta. On incorporation, the management was taken over by P Kumar and Sunil Pawaskar. In Apr.'94, the company came out with a public issue of 81.75 lac equity shares at par aggregating Rs 8.17 cr, to part-finance its project for cultivation of white canned button mushrooms with an installed capacity of 1805 tpa and to finance the long-term margin money for working capital. The project cost was Rs 10.90 cr. MAFL manufactures processed foods like mushrooms, etc. The product is white canned button mushrooms. The company has tied up with South Star Pte Ltd, Singapore, for export of its entire production of 1805 tpa mushrooms. MAFL has its plant in the Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Consequent upon the collapse of the operating office at Poonam Chambers, Bombay on 16th Sep, 1997 the company lost all current assets and fixed assets. During the year 1999-2000, the company achieved a gross income of Rs.13.29 lakhs as compared to Rs.18.40 lakhs in the previous year.
