In the same year of establishment, it introduced Omega 58000, the country's first indigenous workstation with high performance graphics. In 1988, the company launched Omega Iris 3100 series, a high-end workstation under collaboration with Silicon Graphics, US. The company also has collaborations with Enter Computer, US, for the manufacture of Omega SP range of plotters and with Heurikon, US, for the manufacture of mini computers. The company distributes the software of well-known software companies like SDRC, Camax, Cadsi, Polygen, Mouldflow, EMRC, SST, Alias, Cadam, Surfcam. The company came out with a public issue in Feb.'94 to part-finance its expansion programme. Presently the company is incurring losses due to improper product mix and various other factors. It is in a deep crisis and its operations are stalled significantly. The company has also defaulted in payment of institutional and bank dues. The banks and institutions have recovered their major dues from the public issue proceeds.
