Pentafour Solec Technology (PST) was incorporated on 3 May '93. The company is being promoted by Pentafour group. V Ramakrishnan is the chairman and S N Rajan is the managing director of PST. Other group companies are Pentafour Products and Pentafour Software and Exports. The company came out with a public issue of 29.30 lac equity shares at par aggregating Rs 2.93 cr, in May '94; to part-finance the project cost, at a project cost of Rs 12.52 cr. PST is into production of solar photovoltaic modules and systems. The company has a technical collaboration with Solec International, US, for providing know-how and for arranging supply of all special purpose equipments. The installed capacity of the solar photovoltaic modules and systems plant will be 3 MW pa on two shift operations for 300 days a year. The company will export 85% of its production with the collaborator offering a firm buy-back of 40% of the total production. Sumitomo Corporation and Sanyo, Japan have acquired the undertaking of one collaborator ie Solec International. PST was adjudged the Best Product award (non-conventional energy source of life 2000) for its product - Solec Photovoltaic Modules, organised by Wisitex foundation, Mumbai. The company is expected to ascend greater heights and meet global competitiveness with its state-of-art manufacturing facility in technical collaboration with Solec Internation Inc., USA, a group company of Sanyo Solar Industries Co., Japan for manufacture of high quality cells and modules.
