Sun Polytron Industries Ltd., formerly known as Keswani Synthetic Industries (KSIL) was incorporated as Keswani Silk Mills on 23 Jun.'79 and the name was changed to the present one on 12 Jun.'90. The company is engaged in twisting and dyeing of synthetic yarn and trading in yarn and cloth. The dyed and twisted polyester filament yarn and nylon yarn is used in the production of wash-and-wear knitted / woven fabrics. It tapped the capital market by making a public issue at a premium of Rs.6.00 aggregating Rs.2.40 crores in Jun.'92. The proceeds were utilised to install the two dyeing plants and eight two-for-one twisters. The company undertook a modernisation plan at a cost of Rs.20.00 crores from IDBI as term loan under the TUF scheme. The Silvassa unit was converted into a 100% EOU in 2002-03.
