100 villages in Ghordi block affected due to landslide

Udhampur (J and K), Aug 10 (ANI): Heavy rainfalls triggered landslides in Tringriya area of Udhampur on Monday leading to the closure of most important link road between Udhampur- Ghordi. As many as hundred villages in Ghordi block have been affected after the authorities failed remove the debris of landslides even after three days.

The Ghordi block is inhabited by a population of 65,000 and many big as well as small villages depend on the Ghordi-Udhampur road. Students and locals have to cross the huge nullah on foot putting their life at risk.

The four-kilometer area has been covered with debris following the landslide, which shows the inefficiency of authorities to reopen the Ghordi-Udhampur road.
