17th Tibetan Buddhist Karmapa leads peace prayers

Gaya, Feb 20 (ANI): The 17th Tibetan Buddhist Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje led world peace prayers at Mahabodhi temple in Gaya, where hundreds of devotees and monks gathered from across the world to offer prayers for the world peace. Dorje presided the week-long special prayer session of 33rd 'Kagyu Monlam' which began on February 16.

The Monlam (festival) will conclude with the Marme Monlam on February 23. Monks and devotees worshipped Lord Buddha and prayed for the world peace.

Buddhist scriptures describe Bodh Gaya as the navel of the Earth.
