New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday paid tribute at the Amar Jawan Jyoti. He was accompanied by the three Defence chiefs- Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Air Chief Marshall Arup Raha and Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan.

Mukherjee laid a floral wreath at the immortal flame to pay his tributes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to twitter to pay tribute to the 1965 war heroes.

The PM said- "As we mark the 50th anniversary of 1965 war, I bow to all brave soldiers who fought for our Motherland in the war. The courage and bravery of our Armed Forces is very inspiring", Prime Minister Modi said in a series of tweets.

"They triumphed over every obstacle and protected India's unity and integrity. We recall the dynamic leadership of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri.
