48th International Film Festival of India witnesses huge turnout

Panaji (Goa), Nov 23 (ANI): Visitors to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), underway in resort city of Panaji, are elated over the selection of movies being screened at the gala event. An American tourist, Jonathan, a regular visitor to the event for the last seven years, said the film festival provides him the opportunity to watch niche and quality films from countries from across the globe, including Iran, Iraq and India, which are not available in his home country.

The event, dubbed as India's largest film festival, opened with Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's film 'Beyond the Clouds'. As many as 195 films from 82 countries will be screened at the festival over a period of nine days.

The focus country in the 48th edition of IFFI is Canada and films from the North American country will be screened during the festival.
