After Mumbai, Rajasthan bans sale of meat for three days during Jain festival of Paryushan

Jaipur, Sep 10 (ANI): Amid the ongoing row in Mumbai over the meat ban during Jain festival of Paryushan, the Rajasthan government imposed ban on the sale of meat. The state government issued an order banning the sale of meat during Paryushan, a festival of Shwetambar Jains for three days.

As per the directive issued by the directorate of local bodies, the ban will be in place on September 17 and 18 and the slaughterhouses as well as meat and fish shops have been ordered to remain close on these days. The ban on sale of meat will also remain in force on September 27 for the festival of Anant Chaturdashi, which is celebrated by Digambar Jains.
