AIIMS Director says hospitals must stabilize patients then recommend elsewhere

New Delhi, Sep 15 (ANI): All India Institute of Medical Sciences Director DR. MC Mishra said hospitals must stabilize patients then recommend elsewhere over dengue outbreak in Delhi and death of a 7 year old Avinash, who was turned away from five major hospitals and ended up being dead in transit, followed by his parents' suicide.

He also said despite best efforts some people have adverse outcomes, but with dengue only fraction of patients become serious and dengue doesn't mean death. He said mortality rate in dengue is very low.

99.9% cases are successful, only fractions succumb to dengue shock syndrome. He also advised that children must be given extra care.
