Air India flight makes emergency landing at Delhi airport after mid-air hydraulic leak

New Delhi, Sept 08 (ANI): State-run Air India's flight made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Monday due to a mid-air hydraulic leak. The pilot noticed the hydraulic failure when the flight was about to land following which he alerted the airport authorities.

The AI flight 405 was headed from holy town Varanasi to Delhi and was carrying 144 passengers on board. A passenger, Rajendra Desai, said they were evacuated through the shoot.

Smoke was noticed from the under carriage after the plane touched down at the airport, following which an emergency was declared and fire brigades were summoned. Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India, Ashwini Lohani, said all prescribed procedures were followed to tackle the situation.
