Alaknanda river flows above danger mark

Srinagar (Uttarakhand), July 17 (ANI): As rains continue in Uttarakhand, the Alaknanda River in Srinagar has crossed the danger level mark. Heavy rains have led to the land erosion on the dam of Alaknanda hydro project.

A temple has come under danger and many shops are also on the verge of submerging. The Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway is also on the verge of getting closed and there is a danger of breaking a contact between Rudraprayag and Chamoli.

Women in the region got together at a temple and are praying for the rains to cease.
