Amarnath Yatra resumes but separatists call for two more days of strike

Jammu, July 11 (ANI): The Amarnath Yatra, which was suspended from the past two days due to curfew in many parts of Kashmir valley, resumed on Monday. However, the separatists have decided to extend their strikes for coming two days.

The valley has been taken by storm over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on Friday. The number of deaths in Kashmir clashes rose to 21 in a week.

Around 15,000 pilgrims were stranded in Jammu for their turn to proceed to the valley so that they can undertake the Yatra. No pilgrim was allowed to move towards the valley from Jammu to perform the Amarnath Yatra as part of a host of other security measures, including the blocking of internet services in the valley.
