Anti-Sikh riots survivor identifies alleged instigator

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): A 1984 anti-Sikh riots survivor identified a leader of Congress party, Sajjan Kumar for allegedly instigating a mob to kill three members of her family and other people in the lane outside her home. Kumar is the prime accused in the case.

Lawyer HS Phoolka said that the eyewitness, Sheela Kaur gave her testimony to the court amid a heated argument that involved Kumar's lawyers threatening and trying to confuse her. Reports say a Delhi court had in July 2010 had framed various charges, including murder and rioting, against Kumar, and a few others in connection of the riots in Sultanpuri region of the capital.

The riots occurred in the aftermath of the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
