Assam Govt. instructs departments to gear up relief measures in flood-hit areas

Jorhat (Assam), July 11 (ANI): As Assam continues to reel under floods, the Assam government instructed various District Administrations to provide all possible help to people in the flood-hit areas. The District Administration has opened nine relief camps for the flood-affected people.

Golaghat and Jorhat remained the most affected districts, with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in its flood report for Sunday putting the number of affected people in these two districts over 67,000 and 47,000, respectively. While four relief camps were opened in Golaghat, five were opened in Jorhat.

Even the health department has reached the shelter homes to monitor the condition of the villagers.
