Bhima-Koregaon violence: Ambedkar's grandson withdraws call for Bandh, says people supported him

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Jan 03 (ANI): Prakash Ambedkar, Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) leader and grandson of B.R. Ambedkar has withdrawn the call for Maharashtra bandh on Wednesday after it turned violent.

Ambedkar had called for Maharashtra bandh to protest the state government's "failure" to stop the violence at Bhima Koregaon village in Pune district two days ago. He also said that many organisations supported him.

Dalit protestors had blocked roads and called for a statewide shut down after a 28-year-old Dalit died in Pune, which led to disruption of normal life in the state and other parts of Maharashtra.
