BJP, Cong. react to National Herald row

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Talking about the exemption granted to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi, from personal appearance in the National Herald case, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy alleged the latter of knowingly not reading the summon regarding the submission of case-related documents. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, on the other hand, said that the petition filed by Swamy in the case is unconstitutional.

Patiala House Court on Saturday also granted bail to Sam Pitroda, former advisor to the prime minister on public information, infrastructure and innovations who is accused in the case. Swamy had filed a complaint in the acquisition of Associated Journals Limited, which published the National Herald newspaper, by Young India Limited, a firm in which Sonia and Rahul each own a 38 percent stake.
