New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Amid the ongoing boiling Cauvery issue in Tamil Nadu, Indian Premier League Chairman Rajeev Shukla on Monday cleared that the IPL-2018 matches in Chennai will be held as per the schedule. Reacting on a question being asked on superstar Rajinikanth's remark that 'it's embarrassing to watch IPL during Cauvery fight', Shukla said that IPL should not be dragged into political controversy.

"IPL-2018 matches in Chennai will be held as per the schedule. Adequate security measures have been taken.

IPL should not be dragged into political controversies,' said Shukla. Citing situation, the IPL Chairman added that adequate security measures have been taken to stop any untoward incident during the matches.

Some pro-Tamil outfits and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader TTV Dinakaran have opposed IPL matches in the city.
