Centre seeks report from West Bengal govt on violence during Ram Navami

New Delhi, Mar 28 (ANI): The Centre has asked West Bengal government for reports on incidents of arson and violence during Ram Navami processions on March 25. The state government has been offered paramilitary forces regarding the situation.

Following the clashes in Asansol area, Section 144 was imposed and Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Police force were deployed in the area. Earlier, one villager was killed and around four were injured after clashes broke out between locals and police during Ram Navami procession in Purulia's Beldi.

A policeman was also injured.
