CEO of German multinational Siemens calls on PM Modi

New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Siemens AG, Joe Kaeser, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. This meeting between the two comes in the backdrop of Kaeser pledging to invest 1 billion euro in India.

With this Siemens became the first European conglomerate to pledge an investment to India in response to Modi's call for German investment in his ambitious 'Make in India' initiative during his visit to the nation in April this year. This is the fourth meeting between Modi and Kaeser.

Kaeser is in New Delhi along with the company's entire board. Germany's trains-to-turbines conglomerate is also looking at mergers and acquisitions in software.

Meanwhile, Modi also met Anglo-Indian lawmakers Richard Hay and George Baker in New Delhi. The two had met Chief of Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, on Monday and expressed their confidence in prime minister's commitment to protecting the interests of minorities in India.
