Chhattisgarh Govt. helping tribal women to become self-reliant

Jashpur (Chhattisgarh), Jan 08 (ANI): The Chhattisgarh Government has come up with an initiative of setting up employment opportunities in the production of Tasar silk for the tribal women in Jashpur district to make them self-reliant. They are trained under 'Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana' for the production of Tasar Silk and now the district is beyond all the issues as these tribal women are becoming self-reliant with the commendable efforts of the district administration.

One of the women said that the initiative has helped them in earning around Rs. 6000-7000 per month, which helps them in leading a better life.

District Collector, Dr. Priyanka Shukla, after discussing with the officers of the Silk Department, emphasised on the participation of women from a rural background in the practice of extracting.

The involvement of women in the project is growing and the authorities are planning to extend it to 1,000 individuals in 2017-18.
