Cyclone Ockhi wrath: Rescue operation continues in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Dec 3 (ANI): At least 11 people have been reported dead and 197 have been rescued in Thirvananthapuram after Cyclone Ockhi hit the southern state of Kerala. According to an India Metrological Department (IMD) forecast, the intensity of cyclone is expected to reduce from 'Very Severe' to 'Severe' on Monday.

On Saturday Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that more than 500 fishermen have been rescued. Kerala CM has appealed the Central Government to declare the cyclone as 'national calamity'.

District administration put number of missing fishermen at 160, however, locals claim that more than 300 fishermen and 79 boats remains missing.
