Decommissioning ceremony of Indian Coast Guard ship held

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Mar 28 (ANI): The Indian Coast Guard on Tuesday (March 27) decommissioned its ship, Bhikhaiji Cama after its 20-year-long tenure. Navy band performed during the decommissioning ceremony held in Chennai.

The surveillance ship played a pivotal role in apprehending around 10 foreign fishing vessels and evacuated several personnel during a Tsunami relief operation. Equipments of the ship will now be stored for utilization in other vessels and remaining parts will be auctioned online through the MSTC, e-auction website.

With a parade of the guard of honour and the haul down of the Ensign for the last time, the Coast Guard bid good-bye to the vessel.
