Devotees throng to Sudhmahadev Fair in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir, July 07 (ANI): The historic three-day Sudhmahadev fair, organized in the chenani tehsil of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir, witnessed a heavy rush of devotees, from within and outside the state, that came to pay obeisance at the Sudhmahadev temple. Thousands of devotees took a holy dip in the Beenisangam rivulet also known as "Pap Nashini Bowli".

They also worshipped a huge trident of Lord Shiva, which is deeply buried in the ground with only its upper end visible. It is believed that Lord Shiva killed Sudhant demon with this trident.

Various Government stalls, temporary sweet stalls, toy shops, fun rides and other eatable corners are set up by the locals as well as outside vendors. Several cultural programmes, depicting the rich cultural heritage of Dogras, are also presented by the local artistes of the district.
