District administration intensifies health relief work in flood-affected areas

Jorhat (Assam), July 22 (ANI): The Jorhat district administration has intensified number of health camps in the floods affected villages of Jorhat. Medical teams are providing basic medical treatment to prevent possible outbreak of epidemic and water-borne diseases.

Senior Medical Officer Pranab Neog said diarrhea, dysentery and typhoid are some of the very common diseases caused after flood. Several villages of Jorhat were displaced due to flash flood of the Brahmaputra river.

However, the condition has now returned to normal and people are returning back to their villages. The district administration informed that seven medical teams will be deployed in all the affected blocks from Sunday.
