Farmers engage in new-age cultivation of medicinal, aromatic plants

Kathua (JandK), July 16 (ANI): Cultivation of traditional crops rears minimum rate of returns and hence the farmers of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir have started cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, which yields high return of income to enhance their economic status. To make aware the farmers about scientific cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, the Central Institutes of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow, in association with Kathua Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised one-day skill development training-cum-awareness programme.

Nearly 100 farmers from Kathua district joined the awareness camp to learn about the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. Farmers took keen interest in adopting the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, as suggested in the training programme.
