Fatima College students climb onto cell tower for justice, threaten suicide if demands not met

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 27 (ANI): Students of Vijayawada's Fatima College climbed a cell tower and threatened to commit suicide if their demands were not met. On the 27th day of their agitation demanding re-location, six students along with a parent climbed on to the cell tower at Gunadala demanding written assurance from the government on re-locating the students in other medical colleges.

The students were brought down with the help of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team after several hours of drama. District Collector B Lakshmikantham assured the students that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would meet them on Monday.

The agitation started after the Medical Council of India (MCI) cancelled the recognition for a batch of the college students, as they failed to meet its norms. As many as 100 students had been protesting for the last two months demanding seats in a government college.
