Floods wreak havoc across India

Allahabad/Lakhimpur/Vidisha, July 12 (ANI): Floods caused by incessant rainfall continued to wreak havoc in various parts of India. Heavy rain pounded the tea-growing, oil-rich state of Assam, killing at least two people.

About 1,00,000 people were forced to take shelter on higher ground. Similarly, the overflowing Sangam River in the holy town of Allahabad has forced people to stay away from the river bank.

In Madhya Pradesh, the condition is worsening every day. 22 people have lost their lives whereas 70,000 people have left their homes as water has rose to dangerous levels along parts of the Narmada River.
