'Gorkhaland' supporters take out candlelight march, condemn police firing on GJM activists

Siliguri (West Bengal), July 20 (ANI): Reiterating their demand for a separate state of 'Gorkhaland,' a group of GJM supporters took out a candlelight march in Siliguri on Wednesday night. Holding lighted candles and carrying banners, the protestors condemned the death of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) activist Ashish Tamang.

Tamang was killed when the police allegedly opened fire at a group of Gorkhaland supporters earlier. Besides the demand for Gorkhaland, the hill town dwellers are also opposing the alleged imposition of Bengali language in the schools.
