Hardik Patel postpones rally in Gujarat, agrees to hold talks with government

Surat/Ahmedabad, Sep 13 (ANI): Twenty two-year-old Convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti Hardik Patel, postponed his 'reverse Dandi march' over Patel quota issue in Gujarat state for the second time after agreeing to hold talks with the state government. Patel, who is leading his community's demand for quota in government jobs and educational institutions, however, warned that the rally will be held if the meeting remains fruitless.

Patel, who had earlier cancelled a similar planned march on September 06, said he is firm on his demand. Earlier on Saturday, the 22-year-old leader had said the rally would go on "at any cost" even as the government had turned down his request for holding the rally for a second time.

The Patidars have been asking reservation within 27 per cent OBC quota.
